This is a quick recipe for a yummy chocolate coffee parfait which is perfect to have pre or post workout. The crème is 100% vegan, free of gluten, soy and unhealthy fats. It tastes like a dessert and contains only a few ingredients. Very easy to prepare. Oh and did I mention how delicious it is?
Chocolate for breakfast anyone?
Trust me, you will love this quick little chocolate dream and the dash of strongly brewed black coffee (or espresso) will give you a little boost for a morning workout or run. Of course you can easily leave out the coffee if you’re no fan of caffeine. It’s up to you.
I used a vegan chocolate protein powder by a german brand for this recipe (it is soy free and sweetened with stevia). Just choose your favorite one, there are so many different brands you can try out. If you have any questions on that subject, feel free to ask me.
So here comes the recipe.
Protein chocolate coffee parfait (vegan, glutenfree, soyfree)
An easy pre or post workout vegan snack.
- 1 ripe banana
- 1/2 frozen banana
- 1 tbsp vegan chocolate protein powder
- 1 tsp brown almond butter (or any nut butter)
- 50 ml almond milk (unsweetened)
- 25 ml cold, strong black coffee (or espresso)
- 1 tsp chia seeds
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon powder
- 1/2 tsp raw cacao powder
- puffed quinoa,fruits etc for decoration (optional)
Put all ingredients in your high speed blender and mix until everything gets smooth and creamy. You can also use a high quality immersion blender. Serve with fresh fruits, puffed quinoa or puffed rice. Enjoy!
